Laurent, an ex-sommelier from Nimes, started the Domaine in 2008 with a single hectare. From a family of farmers – his grandfather had goats and his father grew fruit – he became a winemaker to work directly on the land and with vines.
Between vineyards and olive trees, the terroir of Souvignargues is located 50 km from the sea on the foothills of Cévenol, in the heart of Sommierois. The soils are varied and rich in their complexity of sandstone, clay, red soil and clapas, stones previously used to build the Capitelles (dry stone mazets).
Today Laurent is farming 11ha of Carignan, Œillade, Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah. His vines are in isolated pockets in a mix of old vineyards, most of which he has recuperated and converted to the traditional goblet method.
All wines are vinified without intervention, for maximum expression of their personality.
